The Friends of NYOW will be holding an AGM on Monday 22nd November 2021 at 6.00 pm.

The meeting will be held online and the obvious advantage of using this technology is that Friends are able to attend the meeting irrespective of location.

We would therefore like to encourage as many Friends as possible to join us for this year’s AGM.

One purpose of the AGM will be to elect officers of the Friends.  The officers are Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.  If you wish to nominate someone to one of these positions, you may do so at the meeting.

If you are not able to attend the AGM, you may, instead, send your nominations to the current Chair, Kevin Adams, at in advance of the meeting.

If you wish to attend the AGM, please let us know at by Sunday 21st November and we will send you the agenda and the link to the Zoom meeting.

Unfortunately, the NYOW residential course will not be taking place this year.  The organisers were very much hoping that it could go ahead in the summer but it has proved to be impossible.  They have been advised that social distancing will continue into the summer and some of the performance venues will not be open until the autumn at the earliest.  It is, of course, very disappointing news but nevertheless inevitable given the circumstances.

However, the young musicians will not miss out altogether as an exciting digital programme has been prepared for them in place of the usual residential course.  This will include digital sectionals, masterclasses, virtual performances and online social events.  Some of these online events have already started and are proving to be very popular.  You can find out more about the digital programme on the NYAW website:
